Dr. Peter Wekesa

As a seasoned professional in the field of education, Dr. Wekesa holds a doctorate degree in curriculum from Kibabii University. He is the Ag. Deputy Director Planning Research, Outreach and Policy.

With a keen interest in curriculum development and educational policies, Dr. Wekesa has been actively involved in the development of Competency Based Curricula; Recognition of Prior Learning Policy framework; Quality assurance policy for national qualifications; credit accumulation and transfer system; accreditation and registration policy leading to a national qualification; monitoring and evaluation policy on implementation of the National Qualifications framework among others. With proven expertise in fostering stakeholder collaboration, ensuring policy compliance, and promoting inclusive educational practices in transitioning individuals including refugees and migrants to access decent jobs and to access higher education, Dr. Wekesa possesses key skills in Curriculum Development; Policy Implementation; Lifelong Learning Advocacy; Stakeholder Engagement; Quality Assurance; Research and Analysis and, Capacity Building on national qualifications framework.
