Stanley Maindi

Stanley Maindi is an accomplished and result driven Educationist turned career civil servant, possessing over 25 years of experience in Technical, administrative and organizational skills. He is currently the Ag. Director Technical Services(DTS), KNQA having also served as a Deputy Director and HOD in charge of Planning Research, Outreach and Policy and Deputy Director, TVET Directorate of Technical Education. Prior to joining KNQA, he served as the personal Assistant and Technical Advisor to PS, State Department of Vocational and Technical Training. He has also served as a Chief Officer in Kakamega County Departments of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Public Service &Administration and Department of Education, Science and Technology. He has also served as lecturer at Kisii University and PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute.

Maindi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology from Moi University, Master of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi and currently a PhD student in Strategic Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology(JKUAT). He has attended several courses both locally and internationally including: Senior Management Course( SMC) and Senior Leadership Development Programme(SLDP)(Kenya School of Gorvenment); Advanced certificate in Developing Technical Education to Meet the MDGs ( Chennai India);Vocational Training Curriculum Planning for Kenya (Republic of Korea);Coordinator Training for Tertiary Education – Industry – Government (T-I-G) Link to Develop Local Industry (Toyohash University of Technology, Japan); Youth Business Initiatiation,Kenya(Peoples Republic of China);Project planning management(ESAMI-Tanzania) among others; 

Maindi is Chair to various Committees including; RPL National Steering Committee(NSC); ISO Certification Committee;KNQA Council Secretariat; the National CBET Conference Organising Committee ;Editorial Team of the KNQA Margazine, ‘the Harmonizer’;PC Implementation Committee and amember of the Technical Working Group(TWG) a committe of the Inter University Council of East Africa(IUCEA) on Harmonization of TVET Qualifications in the 3 EASTRIP Countries, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. He is a member of the Institution of Engineering Technicians & Technologists(IET).
