Today the Director General Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) joined the National Governing Council and the 8 Regional Coordinators of the kenya National Federation of Jua Kali Association (KNFJKA) in a capacity building workshop on the implementation of RPL in Kenya. The meeting is being attended by (KNFJKA) Chair Solomon Nchebere, C.E.O Richard Muteti and representatives from ILO, NITA,TVET CDACC and KNQA . In his address the Director Noted that RPL Policy will facilitate the assessment and certification of competent and Skilled artisans in relevant skill areas in the Jua Kali sector. He vowed to support the sector through an MOU that will fast track assessment and certification of members of the federation representing different counties that were in attendance. He committed to give priority to the management of the federation to access Assessment and Certification #Shaping the future of Kenya
This week the KNQA is working with the Kenya Association of Jua Kali to roll out implementation of RPL at the County levels. The meeting is being attended by the DG KNQA Dr Juma Mukhwana, Chair of Jua Kali Richard Muteti and representatives from ILO, NITA and TVET CDACC. The scheme will ensure that competent and Skilled artisans are assessed and certified in the relevant skills areas
